Terminal

A terminal you can live in.

Tabs, splits, SSH and search, fast and familiar. It works with no AI connected. When you want help, it reads the output you already have.

Product preview. Tabs, splits, SSH with host-key checks, search and session restore work in the development build on macOS.

Why developers keep it open

Everything a daily terminal must do, done well, before any AI enters the picture.

  • Tabs and splits that keep your shell

Split with ⌘D, close a pane, drag a divider. A split never restarts the shell inside it.

  • SSH in a tab

Remote shells next to local ones. The host key is shown and checked before you connect.

  • Search everything

⌘F through scrollback. Shell integration marks every command with its exit code and duration.

  • Keyboard first

Every pane, tab and search has a shortcut. The mouse is optional.

  • Yours to configure

Font, cursor, scrollback, shell, theme. Settings apply live, no restart.

A day with it

One realistic workflow, start to finish.

  1. Open the project

Shells start in the project you have open, on the branch you are on.

  2. Split for the long job

⌘D for a second pane. Run the build on one side, keep working on the other.

  3. Ask about the output

A failing command? Send its output to the agent with one keystroke. Nothing is sent until you do.

  4. Come back tomorrow

Close the window. Tabs, panes and scrollback are there when you return, clearly marked as restored.

Next: bring your own AI

The same terminal, with Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or a local model one keystroke away.

Where this stands

Vekrun is in development. There are no public releases yet. Tabs, splits, search, session restore, shell integration, SSH and the settings above work in the development build on macOS. Remote file editing and transfers are planned.
